The eagerly anticipated July Open Mic Night on Friday 28th could well be the highlight of this year's series. Last year was the first in association with the world renowned writers school and a wealth of artistic talent availed of the occasion to let their hair down after a week of classes in the Market Place Theatre. You might remember the singing and guitar playing of Sinead Coll, Sheila Cashman singing ''The Spinning Wheel'' or Marie from Warrenpoint reciting 'Shakespeare'. Along with all our regulars this night should not be missed.
Limerick Laughs competition open to all with a Limerick on 'Writers and writing' (subject picked by last month's winner.. Dymphna as a nod to our literal friends from JHISS) The winner will be showered with wonderful things ....so get writing ''There was a wee ...''
Our guests this month is the very talented Spotlight Studios Youth Drama/Dance school. Based in Armagh and directed by the gifted Joanne Mullen Spotlightght Studio Dance and Drama School performed their 'Chara & The Beast' (the Celtic tale of Beauty &the Beast) to a packed Market Place auditorium last weekend. They will be appearing in Abbey Lane with highlights of the show for us on Fri 30th door open 8pm .

This months' Limerick subject 'Politicians'
May's Open Mic Night this Friday 26th promises to be another 'not to be missed' night of local entertainment promoting the written word, music and culture from around the area. This month's guest group is the Ulster Scots Community Network and Enagh Rural Development Association represented by Charles Neville and Kirsty McMillan. The strong associations we have with Scotland, its culture and language will be portrayed through poetry and music by these two eminent artist. Make sure you arrive early for this special OMN and give Charles and Kirsty a great Abbey Lane welcome. Doors open 8pm, start 8.30pm all welcome £5 inc glass of wine/nibbles
