The eagerly anticipated July Open Mic Night on Friday 28th could well be the highlight of this year's series. Last year was the first in association with the world renowned writers school and a wealth of artistic talent availed of the occasion to let their hair down after a week of classes in the Market Place Theatre. You might remember the singing and guitar playing of Sinead Coll, Sheila Cashman singing ''The Spinning Wheel'' or Marie from Warrenpoint reciting 'Shakespeare'. Along with all our regulars this night should not be missed.
Limerick Laughs competition open to all with a Limerick on 'Writers and writing' (subject picked by last month's winner.. Dymphna as a nod to our literal friends from JHISS) The winner will be showered with wonderful things ....so get writing ''There was a wee ...''
