We always like to surprise and delight our audience with the range of wonderful talent at our doorstep. This month is shaping up to be slightly different to the many great nights already experienced. Ed Masters, Illusionist and Magician has confirmed he will be 'appearing' in Abbey Lane on 25th May. It's constantly said of Abbey Lane been a place of magic and imagination and that Magic you will see for yourself when Ed takes to our stage.

Along with the mix of regular and new participants taking to the stage with their poems, songs, instruments and writings we have the 'Limerick Laughs' compo theme 'The Magic OF May' (that can be the Month, a name or a Politician) to compete for those breathtaking prizes! Door open 8pm £5 entry, 5mins on stage, compo drink and nibbles, or Bring Your Own Bottle. Seating will be more limited so get in early.
Keeping the wheels of Drama moving through productions at Armagh Theatre Group is an on going procedure. Their inception, or conception, more than often comes in the form of one of our regular reading nights the most recent which was Tuesday past. Yes, at times eveyone involved in a production often feels that sence of expection and worry, like new parents, as we approach the 'birthing' date. The staging of a new production.
We read 'London Vertigo' by B Freil set as a period farce (Hilarious) ; 'The car journey' by Thornton Wilder (Our Town) a moving one act that we all can relate to. Also 'The Donahue Sisters' by Geraldine Aron another one act,
very funny with an unexpected shocking twist!

Abbey Lane Theatre was packed as April's OMN got underway with internationally renowned guest artists Finbar Magee & Breige Quinn giving us a taste of their vast repertoire. Finbar's witty and thought provoking songs beautifully accompanied by Breige on fiddle had the audience entralled instantly. Their finale 'Facebook Friday Night' will go down as one of the golden memories of Open Mic Night's moments.

Due to the unexpected cancellation of March OMN Finbar and Breige have happily offered to appear at this month's Open Mic on 27th April. We have a packed evenings entertainment with the talented duo, our regular and new contributors, Limerick Laughs compo (still 'Spring memories' theme, so if you had one for last month you can still enter) with a host of wonderful prizes... complementary refreshments and nibbles, music ,songs, storytelling and laughs galore# usually at me!
